Ami Fletcher

Therapist at The Counseling Center at Springfield First UMC

Ami is an Austin Peay State University graduate with a M.S. in counseling with a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Haden Institute in Asheville, NC. She believes that everyone can blossom in a sincere atmosphere of encouragement. Ami also believes that diving into the heart and mind to search for feelings and thoughts that might have been dormant for a while is crucial. She is prepared to help all her clients have a richer, more satisfying life experience.

Ami enjoys working with adolescents, adults, and couples. Teens sometimes are less able to communicate all their feelings and thoughts through words, thus she enjoys using expressive arts therapy with them. As a certified Spiritual Director, she is able to counsel people who are desiring a closer walk with the God of their understanding, with any religion, or of none. Ami has extensive experience with 12-Step programs, both addicts/alcoholics and their families. She also specializes working with people in later life and those who are experiencing grief. As a Brain spotting practitioner, Ami will sometimes use Brain spotting, to help those who have suffered trauma.
